I met Claudia on June 19, 2009, while out on a date (with someone else) and singing karaoke at a local Chinese restaurant. The short of the story is that Claudia didn't like the song that I was singing (Please Come to Boston) and offered to buy my table a drink if I would sing something she was actually familiar with. I told her that she just didn't appreciate great music when she heard it. At some point in our conversation (along with some liquid confidence), I asked her to go to lunch. She responded with, "Why would I want to go to lunch with you?" I said, "ahhh, maybe to eat." She laughed. The night went on, we didnt speak again and I eventually drove my date home. That was on Friday...on Sunday, I happened to check my text messages and realized that I had a text from Claudia. Evidently, she had written late Friday night or during the wee hours of Saturday morning. The message read, "hello." So, I responded to her text and, of course, she didn't recall who I was. I actually had to send her a photo of me so she would recall our chance, Friday meeting. She replied, "oh ya, you are the Kenny Rogers looking guy." (I guess that was a compliment, if she was referring to the before facial surgery Kenny). Two weeks later, we finally went out to dinner. We dined at Aloha's, down by the water in downtown Ventura. Claudia looked fabulous, we ate and drank plenty of great wine (Claudia ran the tab up quite nicely) when then Claudia declared, "Well George, just so you know...I am not looking to date, not looking for a boyfriend or a one-night stand." I said, "Alrighty then, let me pay the check.". I then walked her to her car and said goodnight. Guess who called me the next day and asked me to go to a concert that night?? Yep, Claudia. Guess who planted the first kiss? Yep, Claudia! We proceeded to go out for the next 300 or so nights...the rest is history! |
We have chosen the historic, Camarillo Ranch for both our wedding ceremony and reception. This will be a fun time for all with great food, drink and music from both of our cultures. PLEASE dress CASUAL...no ties, jackets or formal wear but, that said, ladies love to dress up so, wear what you like.
The ceremony will begin at 3:00 PM...wine will be served beginning at 2:30 (yes, before the ceremony and we expect EVERYONE to have a glass in thier hands when vows are exchanged.) |
